Sandra Pena

Sandra is a PhD student in Microbiology and Immunology at UBC. She completed her BSc in Biological and Chemical Science at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.

Sandra’s research focuses on the role of PtpA, a phosphatase secreted by M. tuberculosis, in the innate immune response to infection of the human macrophage.

Sandra’s other interests include yoga, hiking, and attending concerts with friends.
