Joseph has worked in the Av-Gay Lab since 2005 and recently began a role as project coordinator and manager of Dr. Av-Gay’s various projects.
Joseph studied towards his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at UBC, and his
BSc is in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University.
Joseph’s PhD research encompassed several serine/threonine protein kinases of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In particular, he focused on PknH and its interaction with the classical two-component system of microbial signaling to control the dormancy response in tuberculosis.
When not at the lab, Joseph is busy with two young daughters, taking the older one to their daddy-daughter skating lessons, and playing softball.
